Editorial Policy

This page sets out how we research, write, fact-check, update, and correct content on servicerules.in. It exists so that readers can hold us accountable to a stated standard.

Sourcing

  • Primary sources first. Gazette notifications, Office Memoranda from DoPT, Department of Expenditure, Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare, and official press releases from PIB. We link to the original PDF wherever possible.
  • Court judgments. Cited from the official websites of the Supreme Court of India, High Courts, the Central Administrative Tribunal, or the Armed Forces Tribunal. We never rely on a paraphrased account from a news report when the judgment text is available.
  • Secondary sources. Used only as background. They are never the basis for a factual claim.

Authors and bylines

Every article carries the byline of its author. The author page lists the author’s background, areas of expertise, and contact links. AI tools are used for editing and formatting; final judgment on every factual claim, every interpretation, and every published word rests with the human author.

Updates

When a rule is amended, an OM is superseded, or a judgment is overturned, we update the affected article and add a date-stamped note explaining what changed. We do not silently edit or backdate articles to make them appear fresh. The “Last updated” timestamp on the article is real.

Corrections

If a published article contains a factual error, we issue a correction at the top of the article, in plain language, naming the error and the corrected fact. We credit readers who flag substantive errors, with their permission. Send corrections to [email protected].

Independence

servicerules.in does not accept payment for editorial coverage. Affiliate links, sponsored content, and advertisements (when present) are clearly labelled and never determine what we cover or how we cover it.
